The competition is made possible through the volunteer service of attorneys, judges, and AIPLA professionals.
AIPLA plans to conduct the competition in person. The Regional and National Directors will provide more guidance at the appropriate time should anything change.
Priority deadline for submission of Notices of Intent to Compete is Friday, December 6, 2024 (11:00 pm local time).
National Patent Application Drafting Competition, The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) started the National Patent Application Drafting Competition in 2014 to introduce law students to issues arising in U.S. patent law, and it has since evolved into a national law school competition. The competition gives law students an opportunity to develop patent skills by applying legal principles to a hypothetical invention scenario.
